The ambition of Linnman Gallery is to work with contemporary art from Swedish and International artists in an environment that inspires both exhibitors and visitors. The exhibitions are located to the upper level in the old match factor, approx. 240 sq meters. The high ceiling, 9-12 meters, opens great possibilities for artists working in large formats.
Our aim is to attract a large audience and support the general cultural interest in the region.

Just finished with her Master degree at University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm the glass artist Matilda Kästel will exhibit at Linnman Gallery.
” My work is based on phenomena which I find peculiar, bizarre even, but often constitute norms and are considered to be completely normal. I am particularly interested in power structures and how they affect the way we interact with each other and the surrounding world.
I also want to include a contradictory experience in my work; the meeting between beauty and discomfort. Objects that at first sight are perceived as decorative, but at a closer look turn out to be something more than that. That turns out to be something else than what was expected, another dimension for the viewer to see. Something that doesn’t quite add up to the picture, that provokes the viewer to question preconceptions.
The exhibition opens april 13 and closes may 5 2012.

Utställningen “The Celebration of Life” visas på Linnman Gallery 23 september-15 oktober.
